Homeschool Camp

A time to play, explore, learn, connect and grow.

Join us for a 6-week camp to explore Lake Wingra through the seasons!

Give your child the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow outdoors this fall! Our 3-hour Homeschool Camp is designed for curious kids ages 6- 12 who thrive through hands-on learning, outdoor adventure, and meaningful connections with nature.

Each week, campers will discover the wonders of the changing season through nature exploration, environmental science, fishing, paddling (weather permitting), outdoor skills, crafts, wildlife observation, and creative play. Our mixed-age program encourages collaboration, curiosity, and confidence while giving children the opportunity to learn from one another.

Led by Camp Wingra's experienced counselors, each day balances engaging, instructor-led activities with plenty of free outdoor play, allowing kids to climb, build, imagine, investigate, and connect with nature in a safe and supportive environment.

Our programs will be held outdoors, rain or shine, and navigating weather will be a big part of our camp. However, we do have an indoor space if we are faced with severe weather.

Grades K-6 (ages 6- 12)
Fridays, Sept. 11th- Oct. 16th
9:00 am- 12:00 pm
$220 for a 6-week session

Josh

Hello! My name is Josh, and I’ve been a camp counselor for the past 7 years, with the last 3 years at Camp Wingra. I have also taught environmentally focused classes at Riveredge Nature Center, Edgewood Campus School, Blessed Sacrament, and Madison Country Day School. I graduated from Edgewood University in May 2025, earning my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Earth Science. I’m returning to Edgewood in the fall to earn my teaching certification. I love biking around Madison, writing songs, fishing, and exploring the outdoors!

Caden

Hi, my name is Caden, and I was a Camp Wingra fishing counselor for two years.  I’ve been fishing my entire life, competing in bass fishing tournaments throughout high school, and I now work as a fly fishing guide and instructor. I have a deep appreciation for Wisconsin’s wildlife habitats and waterways, and I’m passionate about educating youth on how outdoor hobbies can both positively and negatively impact these environments—and how we can responsibly care for them. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, basketball, making music, and, of course, fishing!
