2023 Camp Wingra Bios
Hey there campers! I am thrilled to be spending my 3rd summer at Camp Wingra, and this one is going to be the best one yet! I have spent the last 9 months living on in small community called Kulaniapia Community Project on the big island of Hawaii! On Hawaii I spent my days working on our farm, working for a sustainable bed and breakfast, and hosting farm-to-table cooking classes.
I feel SO lucky to be able to return to Madison for the summer and spend my time on the lakes with the Madison Boats community. I hold a special place in my heart for summers in Madison. I will be spending my time this summer at Marshall Boathouse, and I cannot wait to share the magic of Camp Wingra with all you wonderful campers (returners and newbies) Be prepared for some intense games of fireball. See you SOON!

I work as a lead usher at the Overture Center and a standardized patient for the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. I love living in Madison because of how great it is for outdoor activities! I grew up on Lake Wingra, jumping off paddle boats and learning to paddle board. I got my first job at Wingra Boats at 14 and then later helped create the first year of Camp Wingra before leaving to join the Peace Corps. In 2015, I moved back to Madison after coordinating REI's Outdoor Programs on the East Coast, because Wingra Boats has always been home. I have three little boys, Justice, Caspian and Sonny and during the year we spend most of our days outside exploring and getting dirty.
I am a retired elementary school teacher, and coordinated Camp Wingra for over 7 years. Although I am not in the same role as I have been before, I will still be around the boat houses paddling, planting flowers, as well as working with Summer and the counselors.
